The word OPULENCE turns me on. I had no fucking idea what it meant until I took a fortuitous day trip down to Malibu with Jessie Andrew’s – the creator of L.A. based jewelry brand Bagatiba. I had noticed Bagatiba on Instagram some time before, magnetized from afar by effortless images of dewy, tanned female symmetry drizzled in simple yet decadent jewels.

I met Jessie out of fate at one of those typical Hollywood dinners. She was calm and collected. A fine balance between cool as fuck and sweet as hell. A few weeks later she picked me up in her truck and drove me down to Malibu, fed me Cafe Habana and talked to me about love, photography, home, her business and the meaning behind her brand. Bagatiba means Opulence in Latvian, a homage to her grandfather’s heritage. To me, brilliance is when passion, focus, and not giving a fuck all synthesize in harmony. Jessie and Bagatiba are that. Check out her jewels, and in the mean time take a peek at our Malibu adventure below…

  • You really have nice expressive writing style.
I wanted to wish you a happy birthday as well. We are not friends but have been acquainted thru Gosha, Devin, and the dougs. Hope we can meet sometime as I like you from afar but don’t want to lurk lol. I live up in Yosemite. I am in LA often, so hopefully, maybe someday, we can talk. Until then, have a wonderful birthday and summer and look forward to hearing back from you via email.
    Sincerely and respectively,

    Lenox
